The Central Βoard of Jewish Communities in Greece proudly welcomes the completion and presentation of the “IOSSIPOS” Digital Archive of Historical Memory and Culture of the Jewish Communities of Greece —a landmark project of exceptional historical and cultural significance for the Greek Jewry.
An innovative initiative spearheaded by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki, the archive brings together a wealth of records, photographs, documents, and personal testimonies from Jewish communities across Greece. It establishes a comprehensive digital space dedicated to preserving memory and highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Greek Jews.
The project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and national resources under the Operational Program “Digital Transformation” 2021–2027 of the Ministry of Digital Governance. It was carried out by the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE S.A.), with Enneas IKE serving as subcontractor.
The “IOSSIPOS” archive is an invaluable resource for researchers, educators, and the general public alike. It offers an unprecedented opportunity to explore the history, culture, and enduring legacy of Greece’s Jewish communities. By bringing this living history to light, the project strengthens historical memory as a common shared heritage of Greek society.
